Slake Cafe - Lindfield, West Sussex

Jar Jar's Mocha summary
"Yousa gotta be kidden me! Mesa died'n gone uppn' to da heavens!"

Translation
I had this particular mocha with oat milk, which can sometimes overpower the coffee and chocolate balance of a standard mocha. In this case however, the oat milk complemented the drink and added a pleasant savoury nuttiness. The drink was delightfully foamy and presented beautifully (as a side note - all of the mugs and crockery are rustic and stylish but also decently weighty and good quality, which does make a big difference overall). I've had it a couple of times from this cafe and both times it's been perfect, I couldn't fault it one bit.

The cafe itself is cosy and welcoming, but decorated in a modern, understated way. It's minimal and bright, with a few bar stools overlooking the village pond and a handful of tables. The vibe is friendly and relaxed, and for the most part feels a tad more calm and distraction-free than Coffee Works at the other end of the high street.
